  Comments Strange race on a legit course. Went out really quick then slowed to a jog. Kenyans from JuCos were looking around, D2 guys were trying to push the pace a little, I went out and made sure one of them didn't get that far ahead, but we were still running 5:10-5:15 pace. A gap developed uphill around 6k, and I sped up a tiny bit, but nobody really followed. At 7k I charged up the big hill on the course and was all of the sudden way ahead of everyone. Felt good about how I played my cards, but could have run a much quicker time if more folks had come to party.

  Comments Hot and nasty. I forgot how serious this course is. I went with lead group that broke away early and paid a painful price. Luckily, I didn't really go to pieces until the last 600m or so, and at that point, nobody could catch up. First two guys were Kenyan collegians, so I feel ok about things.
