General Information:
  Comments Did a two mile run without the crew(mark, Chinn, beam). This was one of those God awful runs. The entire thing sucked. As a coach it was one of my favorite days because it defined a runner. I'll never forget the day Mark Scott and I ran 1000's on the track in the spring of last year... He just realized it, he realized he could go to a dark place, I'll never forget the first day I saw kim open up her stride at districts in track ! Even though her races got better that season and she didn't win districts... I saw it, she trusted the work she had done. I'll never forget the day Chinn and I did a 3 mile tempo at zt on that cool summer day... She just flew. However the next week it was 100 plus degrees and her world fell apart... She could of stopped that day, running breaks your heart... She didn't stop, she Kept plugging... That is running, finding your groove. Today was ivy's day. She suffered through this entire, Awful bullshit, -2 degree run, through snow and filth. Ivy plugged away. As bad as it was, I couldn't stop laughing at her misery, because I've been in her shoes. That is running, it's solidarity, it's the low points that others have been through. It's the times when you question everything! That is life though! Why do we do what we do??? I know why I do, it's in my dna, it's part of me , I explore human suffering... Why? Because I have been gifted , maybe 80 years here, and I intend to live all of them as ivy did today...suffering and exploring the depth of what a human beings can endure.
