This past weekend I found a trail 1/2 marathon when I was out west for a few days. Just like the Hocking Hills race, I liked this as well. It totally kicked my butt but it was fun anyways. I did take my camera and took pictures a few different times along the course. I admit it. But it was worth it. The race went through cow pastures, literally, through cattle gates and all, and up and down bluffs and ridges. A lot of fun. A couple things I learned though. Always take TP/kleenex with you and be prepared to climb a cattle gate to get out of view (no porta-pots in wilderness area) and if it's windy, don't wear a size too big of a wind jacket/running pull-over...it catches wind like a parachute. Also, try to acclimitize to elevation as long ahead of time as possible or you'll be operating on about 1/5 of a lung. Anybody else run any trail races anywhere? Any tips?

You know, game, I have to commend you on your insights. I, like you, have enjoyed just a couple trail races and those being in the last few months. I've also worn too big of a wind jacket the last one I did. You sound like someone I could hang with and do some miles on the road. We seem to have a lot in common.
