Can anyone suggest a watch that I can program a workout into? I have misplaced my Forerunner, you can program all intervals, including rest, warm up and cool down and it just beeps to let you know whithout having to look and stop to press buttons, etc... I don't care about the other bells and whistles such as HR or the GPS. I've been looking online for waches and there's a Timex Ironman model, but there is conflicting feedback. Thanks for your help. |

Unless you are running for time, you'll need the gps.... |

Don't get married to a watch. I totally feel that easy runs (and long runs for that matter) should be done by "feel". Heartrate monitors have been around for a long time. Around about the same time that the US started to suck at distance running. |

thank you for your reply. i don't care much about distance (ie, 6x800m, mile repeats, etc...) i run predominently for time. i use online sources to figure out how far i've gone. the timex ironmen watch does do the intervals, but i was hoping for another suggestion. |

thanks for replying. i don't time my long runs anymore. this is more for my timed interval workouts (15 min w/u 7x4 min @ 5k pace w/ 3min rest 15 min cool down, etc...) and i prefer not to have to look at the watch, which interrupts my focus, rather keep up my speed and quit when i hear the beep. the forerunner was great for that and i was bummed when i lost it. i hope it turns up. but, thanks for the input. |
