In the beginning- Shows about different periods in time. Cover vast majority of places/events/time. Lot of shows were used in classrooms in public schools across America.

A little bit later- Half the shows were about aliens, UFOs, and conspiracy theories. Still some 'regular history shows' but the prime times were focused on extraterrestrial lifeforms.

Then, they could have changed the name from The History Channel to The World War II Channel. 80% of the programming was about Nazi's, Hitler, WWII in general.

Now, it is watching other people work. The #1 show on The History Channel is watching a business that made most of it's money off of degenerate gamblers and junkies.

Speaking of Pawn Stars... here is every episode:

Owner: I want to sell you this _______

Rick: I like it, but I got a few questions about it. I got a buddy that knows everything about _________ so would you mind if I call him down and have him check it out?

Rick to camera

If this is real, it can be worth some serious bucks.

Professional: _________ is authentic and genuine.

Rick: How much do you think it's worth?

Professional: In this condition, retail, about 20,000$-22,000$

Rick: Ok Thanks

Exit Professional

Rick to camera:

I'm glad my buddy came by and authenticated it. Now that I know it's real, I want it. Lets just hope we can make a deal.

Rick: Ok, so now that we know it's real what do you want for it?

Owner: Well he said 20,000$, so 20,000$

Rick: Umm no. I'll tell you what, I'll offer you like 3,000$

Owner: No that's too low.

Rick: This going to take me about a year to sell, I got overhead, have to pay commission, I'll give you like 5,000$

Owner: I can do 15,000$

Rick: Lets meet in the middle 7,500$ and that's the best I can do.. I don't even know why I'm offering that much.

Owner: 7,500$ I'm not shure.

Rick: That's 7,500$ cash. One-hundred dollar bills.

Owner: 7,500$ cash.

Rick: Cash money.

Owner: You got yourself a deal.

Rick to camera:

I'm glad we were able to make a deal. _______ is going to look great in my shop.

Hahahaha..

That's basically how they all go. Maybe one or two that comes along that refuses to sell or the "expert" says it's a piece of s**t.

There was actually something I saw a while ago where this guy dug up all this stuff and proved that Pawn Stars was actually a staged show. Nothing real about it.

That shop is not as big (or busy) in person. They don't even have any cool merchandise out. I think the coolest thing I saw were the Super Bowl rings, starting at $100,000 a piece.

The focus of my post was the History Channel's transformation of educational programming into watching other people work. Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, American Pickers, Ice Road Truckers, etc are the new main shows for the network. I added the Pawn Stars outline as a quick addition. That is what seemed to tickle the r2w community... so I'll give you my full, in depth outline.

Owner: Hey I got this ___________ for you to check out

Rick: This looks cool. So how did you acquire this?

Owner: This guy owed me money, he didn't have any cash so he paid me with this.

Rick: OK. Well, what are you looking to do with it. Pawn it, Sell it?

Owner: I'm looking to sell it.

Rick: I like it, but I got a few questions about it. I got a buddy that knows everything about _________ so would you mind if I call him down and have him check it out?

Rick to camera

There are a lot of fakes of this _____. That's why I am having an expert check it out. If this is real, it can be worth some serious bucks.

Professional to camera

Professional: Hi, I am _____, I work at _____ whenever the guys have a question about ______ they call me down.

Rick to camera:

I'm glad we were able to make a deal. _______ is going to look great in my shop. :unnecessary/out-of-place laughter:

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Here is Storage Wars.

Dave Hester will go YUUUPP

Barry will make sexual innuendos

Darrell will use the term "this a ___ dollar bill" on figures that are not US denominations of currency.

ex. This right here is a 75 dollar bill. This bike is an easy 40 dollar bill.

Jarrod will bid on a locker, and Brandi will complain about the amount of money spent on it.

While going through lockers, the owner will say something like: "look at this" "what's this" "what do we have here" and it will cut to commercial.
