Just thought I would post this subject about performance enhancing drugs for running. Names I hear that are being used are clenbuterol, winstrol, jack3d, oxy elite, albuterol, gw501516. These are just some names that your average runner I hear r using these days to improve their times. Epo I know most people here could afford or get access to. Was wondering if anyone here has heard these names as well or if there is anything else. Drug testing not an issue for me. Please feel free to respond good or bad just wondering what some of my competition might be using who I'm always losing to I'm sure some here could relate to this.

Clenbuterol - Is used for breathing problems. It's a banned substance... even though it hasn't be clinically proven to absolutely improve athletic ability. Winstrol - Is an anabolic steroid, it's known for being "safe" for women to us. It's also been known to be used in horse racing. Jack3d - Is close to being banned, you might still be able to find some legally online. It may have killed a couple solders earlier this year, I believe it's still being investigated. The product contains '1,3-dimethylamylamine' also known as Methylhexanamine. It may boost the metabolism, like caffeine would. But it's sort of known for being used as a nasal decongestan. Oxy elite - Is legal. It's just a strong stimulate. Like stacker 2, but stronger. Albuterol - Used for breathing problems. Clinical studies show no compelling evidence that it will improve your athletic performance. Gw501516 - It is being investigated as a potential treatment for diabetes and obesity. It's still being studied to see if it is a performance enhancer. They started testing for it after the 2008 Olympic games... There has not been an athlete who tested positive for this yet. That should tell you something.
If you want to use a performance enhancer DON'T USE ANY OF THOSE!!! The reason you hear about new performance enhancer is because athletes are trying to use them to cheat and not get caught. So they have to keep finding the next big performance enhancing drug. I wont advocate the use of any performance enhancing drug, but Steroids, Human Growth Hormone, and EPO get the job done. Yes Steroids will improve your running ability as long as you are actually running while you take it. Also, you should be able to find a sports related doctor who is willing to go into this further. I have no idea how you would cycle these drugs. I've talked to people who went to their doctor and talked to them about this kind of thing, sometimes they are willing to help, probably to keep you from doing it wrong. So my final verdict would be to find a doctor who is willing to help you out. Steroids are probably your cheapest choice. Human Growth Hormone is better, but not cheap, I heard it was a grand for one "unit" on the drug. It's worth it, if you have a grands worth of pocket change lying around. Anyway, the worst thing a doctor can do is say no.

In Kenya you can walk into a pharmacy and ask for some of the "good stuff" and they'll hook you up with a bucket of EPO. True story.

I honestly know of at least two people personally who use amphetamine, also known as adderall for all you silly kids who don't know any better) to improve their race times.. While it is absolutely NOT safe at all, one of its stronger side effects when abused (taking an above average dose, chewing the pill, crushing and snorting) besides euphoria, and increased focus, is reduction in perceived effort for a given physical task. Running obviously being one of the few sports where such an effect could really be capitalized on, it would make sense that somebody would use it for improving their times.
Unfortunately, this drug is commonly prescribed (and abused in large by college age kids) but most who do use it for race day gains in performance aren't willing to admit that they do.
-- I am in no way suggesting ANYBODY try this at home. Don't do it.
So yeah. I guess amphetamine would be the biggest one I suspect.. Next to s**t tons of caffeine obviously. Also as a side note. If you abstain from caffeine totally during your regular daily lifestyle and training, it can have a wonderful effect for increasing physical performance on race day.. However with daily consumption you lose this effect dramatically. This has been proven by scientific studies. Personally I would avoid performance enhancing ANYTHING. If somebody beats you simply because they swill expensive "performance enhancing" garbage, then they don't have half the heart you do for gutting it out and doing it by training hard.
IMO !!
