He ran 27:30.9, that's like fifty seconds slower than his pr and he walks away with the silver. He also kicked hard enough to catch Mo, who finished a half second faster. No one was really finishing near their pr, I would have liked to have seen more of the middle of the race but the station kept running commercials through much of the middle of the race so I got pissed and walked away and happened to come back in time for the finish. If I was doing fantasy track I might have lost some points on this race, but I'm glad to see a American born runner find success at that level.

it's pretty rare for someone to PR in a championship race 10k. in fact anything farther than 800m in a championship format is usually a slow race and a strong kick.

But i do completely agree with NBC's terrible coverage.

NBC did better than in previous years. The final 3k was commercial free. There was at least splits every 400. I felt like we got to see more of the race than usual, probably helps it was live.

Would have been nice though if either announcer actually knew anything about running. The two of them both did research on Farah and Bekeele (SP) of Kenya, but they probably were reading off a sheet just to name everyone else. So that was disappointing.

But in the end, the USA has a silver medal, and that is awesome. Nice job Rupp!

You have no idea how ironic it is seeing you call the announcers clueless and then talking about Farah and "Bekeele" of Kenya...

You just went full retard. Please never go full retard again.

I'm not big on spelling, or naming things correctly in a running forum. That's also why I'm not an announcer mr kittypunter.

Your spelling here is the least of your worries. I shouldn't need to explain this, but I will.

1) It's Bekele

2) He's not Kenyan

3) Neither is Farah

4) You can't say someone else knows "nothing about running" when you're this clueless.

1) Added an E and put (SP) b/c I wasn't sure.

2) It's all Africa.

3) Didn't say Farah was

4) I know plenty, again it's a forum, not putting out a lot of thought in these joke threads.

Kenenisa Bekele is one of the greatest runners of all time. You clearly don't know much about running if you didn't know he's Ethiopian and couldn't even spell his name.

Says the person who wears arm warmers in a race. Did you forget your fuel belt that day?
