This is a very interesting question... I actually have been looking into this. I have basically 3 options. I can write up some simple web pages that could be formatted for the iPhone (not really the most flexible) where you would just access your account stuff like you do now. I can write a java app that is still web based and can't utilize all the functionality the iPhone offers. Finally, there is a programming language for the iPhone which can take advantage of all functionality the iPhone has built in - like, GPS tracker. In order they get more and more involved and difficult to build. Currently I take home absolutely no money from r2w so it's a matter of doing what I can do when there is time. I do teach in the computer science department at Miami U. and there is a course in iPhone development so I may ask the professor there if he would set up a project that the students could work on for r2w... We'll see about that though.

I think that if something gets written for the iPhone it would only be fair if we could get it on Windows Mobile based phones. I would offer to help but my one year of computer science is no help in doing anything that would involve accessing the web site or going straight to the server for the site.

I was just going to post a topic for this!

I think it would be a great idea and it would make the site much easier to access and more available for current members.

It is also a great way to bring new members to the site via people who get the app first before actually using the website.

The only reason I'm inconsistent in using the website for my running log is that the web isn't always accessible to me. But with an iphone it is.

I would pay, and more than $0.99, to get a running2win iphone app. All the other running log apps are inferior.

I'm surprised I hadn't seen this before--Hoya, I say by all means, if you can create an iPhone app for r2w--I'd drop some dough for it. I know there's over 100,000 apps out there, so why not 100,001?

By v2...no way :) That might get me to start running and logging my runs once again....guess I have a few more years to worry about that.

Before iPhone was BlackJack. It was great but I am totally amazed at the design of the iPhone interface. I love shopping at Jungles. Yes your folks should visit and bring you.

Oh I'm new to the smart phone thing. My phone is an android, and from what I've seen from the iphone I think mine is better. Would the app work with my phone too?

Not usually, as apps for android and iphone are written in different languages. If they are using PhoneGap then it's very likely that it will work on all three platforms.

I guess I should say I own an android phone too, in case Hoya is thinking of not going the PhoneGap way.
